What is the Endothelium?
The endolhelium is the thin layer of cells that lines the interior surface of all of the vessels and arteries throughout the body from the heart to the smallest capillaries. Vascular endothelial cells usually align and elongate in the direction of blood flow.
When the body has a loss of proper endothelial function, it can lead to vascular disease and is key in the development of arheroscilerosis. It can also lead to hypertension, thrombosis and often is seen in patients with coronary artery disease, diabetes mellitus, and hypercholesterolemia. Endothelial dysfunction causes a decrease in the body’s production of nitric oxide leading to hypertension and possible heart disease as well as erectile dysfunction. How the RejuvaHeart™ Protocol Works to Improve the Endothelium Function
Patients undergoing the RejuvaHeart™ protocol have significant immediate increase in the reactive hyperemia-peripheral arterial tonometry (a non-invasive method of measuring peripheral endothelial function) index after each treatment and at 1-month.36 Endothelium plays an integral part in vascular homeostasis, and its dysfunction leads to imbalance between nitric oxide—a potent vasodilator, anti-proliferative, anti-inflammatory molecule—and endothelin-1—a potent vasoconstrictor, mitogen, and pro-inflammatory molecule. Urologist, Dr. Lawrence Lykins explains RejuvaHeart’s role in improving the endothelium function.
In this video, Urologist, Dr. Lawrence Lykins explains how RejuvaHeart™ therapy improves plasma nitric oxide levels and thus improving the plasma endothelium levels which results in significant improvement in blood flow to all parts of the body.
When you are talking about the blood vessels that go to the heart, and you’re talking about the blood vessels that go to all parts of your body, including the pelvic organs then you are talking about the lining of the blood vessels. The lining of the blood vessels is called the endothelium. RejuvaHeart™ therapy improves the endothelium functions enabling it to expand properly. Before RejuvaHeart™ a patient’s endothelium may have been kind of shriveled up. With the therapy the endothelium becomes revived and helps the blood vessels and arteries to work better getting more blood flow to all parts of your body which helps in getting erections as well as helping your heart, your lungs, brain and everything.
